🍳 Kitchen Note: Induction vs. Standard

My kitchen runs on a GE Induction Cooktop, so I list specific numeric heat levels (1-10) to take the guesswork out of temperature control.

  • If you use Induction: You know the drill—these numbers are precise!
  • If you use Gas or Electric: Simply follow the description in parentheses (e.g., Medium-High).
  • Note on Speed: Induction heats pans instantly. If you are using electric, give your pan an extra minute or two to preheat!

💰 Financial Breakdown: The Week 5 Budget

Feeding a family of 4 high-quality, organic meals for less than the cost of two nights of takeout.

  • Estimated Aldi Spend: ~$70.00 – $80.00
  • Pantry “Shop”: Uses leftover Wraps (from Week 4), Oil, and Spices.
  • Cost Per Person/Per Meal: ~$3.10

Why this works: We ditched the complex flavor profiles for guaranteed family wins. Relying on simple, high-protein staples, buying boxed organic soup, and using one loaf of bread across two meals (Thursday and Saturday) keeps the budget super low while saving your sanity on busy weeknights.

🥗 The Sunday Set-Up: 30 Minutes to Peace

This step is completely optional, but knocking it out now is a huge time saver for your busy week ahead!

  1. The Veggie Prep (10 Mins):
    • Peel and chop Carrots (about 1 cup) for the Sunday Slow Cooker meal.
    • Wash and wedge your Potatoes for Wednesday’s baked fish side.
  2. Cheese Prep (5 Mins):
    • Shred your blocks of Cheddar using your grater. You’ll need it for the Taco Skillet, Grilled Cheese, and Quesadillas!
